Pages

A screen shows one page at a time. A page is a grid of cells, and every tile takes one cell or more. How many cells a page has depends on the screen.

Columns × rows. Which way a screen hangs is chosen when you add it; the grid follows.

A screen holds up to eight pages and 64 tiles. On a small grid the cells run out first: 48 tiles on a 2 × 3 grid, 32 on a 2 × 2. The counter above the pages in the editor keeps track.

Titles and the Home page

Every page can have a Page title, shown in the top bar. A page without one shows the Screen title, and a screen with an empty title shows the logo alone.

One page is the Home page: where the home key goes, where the screen returns to by itself after a while, and where it starts. Page 1 is Home unless you choose another page with Set as Home.

Pages the bar doesn't show

Turn off Show in page dots and swipe navigation in a page's settings and it becomes a detail page. The page bar skips it, and you reach it through a Go to page tile or from an automation. Its page bar shows Back, which returns the way you came.

Working with pages in the editor

  • Add page in the toolbar above the pages. It asks for a title and what the top bar shows. Dropping a tile on the empty page after the last one also makes a page, without questions.
  • Drag a page by its number to change the order. Its tiles, title and links travel with it.
  • The ··· menu of a page: Page settings, Edit top bar, Set as Home, Duplicate page, New empty page with this top bar and Remove page. A removed page can be brought back with Undo in the message that appears.
  • Row shows the pages side by side; Map shows how they link to each other.

Empty cells stay empty where you leave them. Nothing is drawn there on the screen.

Getting around

How people move between pages on the glass is set per screen: the page bar, swiping, the home key. Navigation explains those settings, and On the screen what each one looks like.
