Do you own this board and can test it?

Yes, I have it and can test

Anything else

Screen selected Sunton · 7 inch ESP32-8048S070 800 × 480 · GT911

Woking with override:

display:

  • id: !extend my_display model: ESP32-8048S050

Only one downside... 4 rows / 4 columns, to small for 5 inch, maybe selectable column/row in screen settings? per page setting?

At that price? Are you serious?

At that price? Are you serious?

Just a link to see the screen model.

Bought it for around 18-20€... A lot of people probably have that screen sitting in a drawer at home.

You could add a little more and buy the P4 version.

@lainol The display driver is the ST7262; I haven't come across this one before. ESPHome might not have a driver for it, and if that's the case, it would be a bit of a hassle to set up for such an obscure device—though if a driver does exist, adapting it shouldn't be a problem.

@lainol This might help; there is a config here: https://github.com/iamfaraz/Waveshare_ST7262_ESPHome_LVGL

@alaltitov see the "anything else" part.

The screen is working with the override:

id: !extend my_display model: ESP32-8048S050

But with the config of a 7inch display, dpi, rows, etc. I'm trying new overrides to fix it. Thx for the help.

@lainol Sorry, English is not my native language, and now it's clearer to me! If the !extend approach works and a new profile in ESPHome is not really needed, and your problem is only the grid, then yes, the question is only for the firmware author about adding the profile. Although maybe it would be better to add this profile directly to ESPHome to get rid of !extend.

P.S. Did I understand correctly?

@alaltitov Yeah, that's right.
