I have started to try to understand how to make changes and try to add the device to this project placing here some references about the working boot with the other project espcontrol
The ESP32-P4 is older than the one on the other panel that I have #52
My first try crashed

@ivanfmartinez Try this; flashed it a few hours ago and seems to be working well.

@timaseth Thanks, but still not work in my device.
Your device is JC4880P443C_I-W-Y ? Mine has SKU 10153003 (2629) on the label

Mine is the same; JC4880P443C_I_W_Y. Not sure about the SKU though but was purchased about 4 months ago. I am to understand that there is new version of the chip which is out perhaps that is where the trouble is. Please have a look at https://github.com/jtenniswood/espcontrol/issues/2070
All the best!

@timaseth Thanks for the reference
This case indicates a V3 SKU , mine is 10153003 (2629)
not V3 and works with espcontrol using existing definition : https://github.com/MaxGramser/homeassistant_espscreen/issues/97#issuecomment-5949622727
There is something missing on esp_screens that I did not find yet, probably tomorrow I will have some time to do more tests

I just confirmed that the YAML above works with this: https://www.guition.com/esp32p4-display-module/esp32p4-display (used this display with espcontrol before)
Original on GitHub
@dlt- you still have the label of your device to compare the SKU ?
For the 10 inch there are 3 versions with some differences, maybe this is the case for this device also.

Yes, the packaging has following printed on sticker (this display does not have any sticker attached to the device itself)
SKU: 10153003 (2629) P4-4.3-inch Capasitive touch Models:JC4880P443C_I_W_Y Resolution: 480x800

I tried again from scratch, removed all build directories, used new name, keep the device off for some time and worked.
I don´t know why it failed sometimes.
There are some changes from 0.4.84 to 0.4.85 cells folder not available anymore.
Here the latest file based on @timaseth definition and pointing to specific version tag that was tested.
@MaxGramser can you add this device based on this definitions ?
Thanks all

Hi, and thanks for Tessera. I got a Guition JC4880P443 4.3" panel running on it and wanted to share how, in case it helps others or can become a proper board.
Hardware
JC4880P443It is not in the supported screens list, so I created a screen with Guition 7 inch (JC1060P470 V2), the closest P4 profile, and used Override YAML.
What happened with a plain override
Setting only
model,dimensionsandreset_pinvalidated and built, but the screen showed a white picture with a vertical band, as described in the V2 file. The V2 board file defines the display asmodel: CUSTOMwith the JD9165 init table and the 1024x600 timings, and those keys stayed merged into my display. Rotation, dimensions andshow_test_cardchanged nothing (show_test_cardis also rejected by the validator).Override that works
substitutions: PANEL_W: "480" PANEL_H: "800" DISPLAY_DPI: "217"
display:
Result: the Home page renders with correct colours, portrait orientation and icons; the diagnostic shows layout
480x800 2x7.Tested / not tested
press x=210 y=405) [CONFIRM: taps hit the right tiles]Notes
reset_pin: GPIO3and no interrupt pin.Request
Would you consider a dedicated board entry for this panel (480x800 portrait, perhaps 2x4 tiles, JC4880P443 model, GT911)? I can test builds and post logs and photos. [ATTACH: photo of the working screen, boot log, back label of the board]
