Hey Remco,
This is in ESP Screens 0.2.62. A light that's off now turns grey, like in Home Assistant, and if you haven't picked an icon for it yourself it shows a crossed-out bulb while it's off, in the top bar too. If you did choose your own icon, it stays the same and turns grey, as Home Assistant does.
Binary sensors got the same look, and they now use Home Assistant's words, such as Open or Closed for a door.
To get it, update the app to 0.2.62 and then press Update on the screen for firmware 0.2.53.
Could you give it a try and let me know here whether this makes the state clear enough?
