Real full-screen tile (no frame) and hold-and-drag dimming on a tile
Hi,
I use Tessera on a Guition 4" (3 columns x 4 rows) in the bathroom and want the screen to replace a wall light switch: a tap anywhere switches the light, press-and-hold plus a sideways swipe dims it. The whole screen is the control and nothing else. Thanks for the project!
I have found three things that stop me. (Plugin tiles at whole-grid size are already asked for in GitHub #300 and in "Plugin tiles: allow full-page size and larger digits", so I leave that out here.)
- A full-screen tile without the user interface around it
Even the built-in full tile sits inside the page: the grey page frame with the page title, the margins and the Previous/Next bar are still there. For a wall-switch replacement I want the tile to own the whole display, edge to edge, with no title, no bar and no margin.
Wish: an option such as fullscreen for a page or a tile that hides the title, the page buttons and the padding. A small way back to page 1 (the Tessera logo or a swipe) could stay optional.
- Built-in light tile: choose what a long press does
For a normal light tile I can pick a small brightness bar (controls: brightness), or a long press that opens the light's card. I would like to choose per tile what the long press does, for example hold: dim (the whole tile follows a sideways drag and sets the brightness) next to the current hold: detail. With a full-screen tile this covers my case without a plugin.
- Plugin API: hold and drag on a tile
A plugin tile gets create / on_state / on_tick / on_theme / on_tap. There is no hook for a long press or a drag. My workaround is a clickable LVGL object inside the tile that listens for LV_EVENT_PRESSING, measures the hold time in on_tick and follows the finger itself. It works, but:
a clickable child consumes the touch, so the core's on_tap no longer arrives and I have to detect the tap myself and guard against a double switch; a sideways swipe is also the page swipe, so dimming only starts after a hold and I tell the two apart by movement. Wish: on_hold, on_drag(dx, dy, phase) and on_release on a tile, plus a way to say "this drag is mine, do not change the page". A flag such as "I handle touches, do not call on_tap" would also help.
I am happy to test beta builds on my screen.
