Device Request for 2.8" board ES3C28P

Hi I would like to request support for the LCDWIKI ES3C28P board (2.8 inch IPS ESP32-S3 display module).

According to the official user manual schematic, it features an ESP32-S3R8 chip, an ILI9341V display driver, and an FT6336G capacitive touch controller.

The exact GPIO pinout map from the documentation is:

SPI CLK: GPIO17
SPI MOSI: GPIO16
SPI MISO: GPIO18
Display CS: GPIO15
Display DC/RS: GPIO3
Display Backlight (BL): GPIO46
Touch SDA: GPIO20
Touch SCL: GPIO19
Touch INT: GPIO23
Touch RST: GPIO24
Onboard RGB LED: GPIO48

I have the physical board with me and I am happy to test any experimental builds or configurations you provide. Thanks for your excellent work! :-)

We often do not have this board ourselves. Community testing helps establish what actually works. A successful report is evidence for the maintainer to review, not an automatic compatibility claim.

UPDATE: We successfully reverse-engineered the board and got it fully working in ESPHome!

The schematic in the official LCDWIKI manual contains errors regarding the pinout. Here is the 100% correct, verified working hardware configuration for the ES3C28P (ESP32-S3R8 with ILI9341 & FT6336G):

SPI CLK: GPIO12
SPI MOSI: GPIO11
SPI MISO: GPIO13
Display CS: GPIO10
Display DC: GPIO46 (This is mapped incorrectly as LCD_RS in the manual text)
Display Backlight (BL): GPIO45
Touch SDA: GPIO16
Touch SCL: GPIO15
Touch INT: GPIO17
Touch RST: GPIO18

The display driver needs to be initialized via 'ili9xxx' with 'model: ILI9341' and 'invert_colors: true'. PSRAM must be set to 'mode: octal'.
