Guition 4.3" JC4880P443 V3 (SKU 10150002-V3)

anthonyseccoSuggested this wish Β·

The V3 revision of the Guition 4.3" P4 (SKU 10150002-V3) has production ESP32-P4 v3.x silicon. The current JC4880P443 profile doesn't boot on it: backlight on, black screen, no Wi-Fi or setup hotspot. The JC4880P443 page already notes this.

I have it working with a two-line override on top of the existing profile: engineering_sample: false, and the GT911 touch bus at 100 kHz. Display, touch, Wi-Fi and the Home Assistant connection all work. The details and the override are in the fields below.

Request: a "JC4880P443 V3" board option, as was done for the JC8012P4A1 V3, so V3 owners don't need the override. Related: wish #46 (the original JC4880P443, v1.x silicon), where V3 has come up in the comments.

Hardware testing

We often do not have this board ourselves. Community testing helps establish what actually works. A successful report is evidence for the maintainer to review, not an automatic compatibility claim.

Model
Guition JC4880P443 V3 (SKU 10150002-V3)
Chip, RAM and flash
ESP32-P4 production v3.x silicon (ROM esp32p4-eco7-20260109), PSRAM in hex mode at 200 MHz, 16 MB flash; ESP32-C6 for Wi-Fi over 4-bit SDIO
Display and touch
4.3" 480x800 MIPI-DSI, ST7701 (2 lanes), ESPHome mipi_dsi model JC4880P443; GT911 touch on I2C SDA GPIO7 / SCL GPIO8 at 100 kHz; backlight PWM on GPIO23
Already tried
Tessera Screen Manager 0.4.89 (screens-v0.4.89), JC4880P443 profile, built in ESPHome 2026.9.1 and installed over USB. As the JC4880P443 page warns, the stock profile does not boot on V3: backlight on, black screen, no Wi-Fi or setup hotspot, and the P4's USB-Serial-JTAG port never comes up. engineering_sample: false on its own still gave a black screen. Adding the GT911 touch bus at 100 kHz, as in the manufacturer's V3 demo (P4_V3X_DEMO), made it boot. The display, touch, Wi-Fi and the Home Assistant connection all work now (screen firmware 0.57.0). Nothing else needed changing: the display model, C6 pins and 20 MHz SDIO link stay as they are, and ESPHome 2026.9.1 already auto-selects the DSI PHY clock that v3 needs. For reference, jtenniswood/espcontrol has a separate V3 profile for this board. Against its original-board profile, it differs in exactly these two points.
