Add Waveshare ESP32-P4-WIFI6-Touch-LCD-7B (Rev1.1)

Please add this exact ESP32-P4 + ESP32-C6 Waveshare 7B as a separate experimental choice in Tessera’s New screen list. The existing ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-7B entry is different hardware and cannot be used for this panel.

A local Tessera board profile is already running on one physical Rev1.1 unit. Display, backlight, Wi-Fi/API, clock/settings page, correct capacitive touch targets and manual encrypted OTA were verified. Tessera Screen Manager 0.4.88 discovers it and reports the saved nine-tile layout as Applied/Synced with live sensor states. The latest energy page has not yet been visually confirmed on the glass, and the 0.56.0 firmware has not yet been tested on this board.

The missing part is upstream registration: add a wavesharep47b board file and catalog entry, generate the package and board-shape entries, and let Screen Manager create and update its ESPHome profile normally. At present it identifies the unknown board as “CYD · 2.8 inch” and says “No ESPHome profile found with this device name”, so its built-in firmware OTA cannot be used. The configuration above is sanitized and contains no Wi-Fi credentials, API/OTA keys, IP address, or personal HA entity IDs.

I can test an experimental build on the physical unit, including display, touch, layout delivery and managed OTA, and report logs.

Hardware testing

We often do not have this board ourselves. Community testing helps establish what actually works. A successful report is evidence for the maintainer to review, not an automatic compatibility claim.

Already tried: I have this physical Rev1.1 board. Built a Tessera board profile against the 0.55.0 source with ESPHome 2026.9.0; official board checks passed (4/4, 0 warnings). Flashed by encrypted OTA. Clock, settings tile and touch hit positions were verified on the glass after setting TOUCH_MIRROR_X=true. The Tessera manager (0.4.88) sees the screen online, reports layout Applied/Synced and sends live sensor values. The official catalog does not recognize this board and mislabels it CYD; managed firmware OTA is unavailable. Screen firmware remains 0.55.0; 0.56.0 has not yet been built/tested on this board.
