4 Zoll · ESP32-S3-4848S040 PWM Noise

Hi,

I have 10 Guition 4" displays in use. All of them make an audible PWM whine when dimmed below 100%. The only fix was raising the frequency to 15000 Hz. Wouldn't that be the correct frequency for these displays? All 10 units I tested have the problem and work perfectly at 15000 Hz.

I made the change with:

substitutions:
  BACKLIGHT_FREQUENCY: 15000Hz

Are there actually batches that can't handle this and don't make any noise?
